AGARTALA, Jan 25 (TIWN): A massive protest was organized at CDPO Office of Mandai by locals voicing against slashing of beneficiaries names from the social pensioners list.

The agitators said, MGNREGA works have been almost stopped, now social pensions are also stopped, whereas before the vote they promised Rs. 2000 will be the allowance and now no-allowance, Anganwadi employees will not get allowance.

Removal of above 50000 beneficiaries names from the social pension list has erupted huge resentment among the poor people.

Govt also unwilling to give pension to them, whose income are merely 70000. Also Anganwadi employees who hardly get 5000 to 6000 rupees salaries were cancelled from the list.

Before election BJP had promised that at least Rs. 2000 will be social pension, Rs. 340 will be Govt work wage including MGNREGA, but there is no development in those promises whereas MGNREGA works have been decreased.

When people were hoping for hike in social pensions, Govt has been cutting the beneficiaries names and far from increasing the rate of the pension.
