Madhab Bari (Jirania), Jan 14 (TIWN): When every year people celebrate Hangrai at Madhab Bari, this year the whole area is in gloom followed by devastating police firing and ruling party BJP sponsored violent incident at there. Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Monday while visiting, violence undergone Madhab Bari area in Jirania, being asked by journalists for his reaction said, “The destructions are open and wide. All the victims whose shops were burnt are very poor. All of them said that basic means of their livelihood was snatched on January 8 violence. It shocking ! It would be good, if nothing had happened like what has been happened here. However, Govt at initial stage merely 3200 rupees to 10000 rupees have given to the victims, but the Govt should not stop here and end its duty. The devastation was vast. So, more compensation should be allocated”. “People are afraid, Women are only crying, even unable to talk. Terror, fear have gripped the people here. I hope Govt would move for Judicial investigation as public has demanded for it”, added Manik Sarkar. ADC CEM Radhacharan Debbarma, Ex-Minister Tapan Chakraborty, Ratan Bhowmik, leader Pabitra Kar, MP Shankar Prasad Datta also made visits along with the former Chief Minister.

The tensed situation in Tripura erupted as at least 6 youths were injured today, 2 serious after SP West Ajit Pratap Singh led sudden firing order bleeds Jirania’s Dasharam para in Madhab Bari area when a little clash occurred at there during protest against Citizenship Bill, as a part of Northeastwise protest. The victim side said that during a road blockade in peaceful movement, two teams came face to face but suddenly police started firing but for that police neither announced anything in prior led the brutal incident.

A major section of the indigenous people demanded, Chief Minister Biplab Deb resignation from Home Ministry as well as from Chief Ministry. Other regional parties have pressed IPFT to withdraw its support from BJP which is in alliance to hold the power.

The firing led after a section of people (BJP) attempted to stop the protest and a clash occurred.Similar situation erupted in Tripura earlier, but I think the firing could be avoided. I met 5 victims are in stable condition, however, one has sent outside for better treatment”. “This bill is opposed by us (CPI-M) too and it’s a democratic right that people will protest, hold strikes, There is nothing wrong in that. They have tried to exercise their democratic right, but firing is beyond understanding”, Sarkar said.
