Nationally known as thief IPS officer Tripura cadre Joydeep Nayak who was arrested in July 23rd, 2016 by Odisha Vigilance Department and also sent to jail and managed bail in August 9, 2016 is now another right hand of Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb and also both of the persons families are close to each other. It can be noted here, the Odisha Vigilance Department sleuths had arrested Tripura cadre IPS officer Joydeep Nayak from Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, who had siphoned off Rs 88 lakh government SC/ST Computer Education funds.

Joydeep Nayak was condemned nationally for stealing Rs 88 Lakhs SC/ST Computer Education Fund, all national media covered Joydeep Nayak's arrest. Later Joydeep Nayak secured bail via 'knee injury' drama and then back to Tripura as IGP (Inspector General of Police) under none other than Biplab Deb's blessings.

During his tenure as the IG of SC & ST Protection Cell, HRPC in Orissa Govt deputation, the scam allegedly took place in connivance with the staff of the department and private players. The Orissa high court then on August 9, 2016 granted conditional bail to suspended IPS officer Joydeep Nayak, who was arrested by the vigilance directorate in July, 2018 in connection with misappropriation of government funds to the tune of Rs 88 lakh. The court granted bail to Nayak against two sureties of like amount of Rs 1 lakh along with property surety of Rs 50 lakh. The court has also asked Nayak to deposit his passport with the investigating agency. The court has clearly directed Nayak to cooperate with the investigating officer in connection the probe, said a government counsel.

In the same way, CM's OSD Dilip Roy is another corrupt TPS officer. Dilip Roy’s past filled with allegations of  managing TPS via dubious means, then prime accused inDSP Kalyan Sarkar murder in 2002 at Dharmanagar and amassing wealth beyond the known sources of income as an ordinary TPS officer. Dilip Roy’s Rs 1.3 crore palatial mansion  at Kargill Chowmuhani, Dhaleshwar came in media limelight multiple times.
