AGARTALA, Oct 18 (TIWN): Tripura was developed by various plays like 'Bisarjan' of Rabindranath Tagore voicing against 'Bali' system. Most popular and kind King Dhanya Manikya abolished 'Nara Bali' (human sacrifice) but in the 21st Century Agartala Durga Bari along with Kali temples as Kashba, Tripura Sundari in continue this brutal 'bali' system. Thus the age old tradition of Buffalo sacrifice at Durga Bari temple on Thursday marked the celebration of Maha Navami-the last day of the Durga Puja. The innocent Buffalo killing on temple premises is considered as the holi practice of 'sacrifice'. Same cruetlty followed in Christianity and Islam where mute animals are killed in the name of 'sacrifice'.On Maha Navami Goddess Durga is worshipped as Mahisasuramardini which means the Annihilator of the Buffalo Demon. It is believed that on Maha Navami day Durga killed the demon Mahishasura.

Although 21st Century has come, but Educated people over-signifying the spiritual believes keep faith on such practices and taking that opportunity a section of people doing business for decades.

However, hopefully oneday it will stop in Tripura also, when a knid hearted, educated person will take step from the Ministry level and people will flow in Vevekananda, Ramakrishna beliefs.

To mark the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura, a buffalo will be sacrificed in front of Goddess Durga every year Nabami at Durga Bari. The Buffalo is sacrificed every year after proper arrangements with the state government.

Amidst huge crowd of devotees, the buffalo killing in barbaric style to mark the occasion of Maha Navami. Once in a year on the day of Mahanavami, a buffalo is sacrificed to Goddess Durga to celebrate the victory of the Goddess over the demon Mahisashura.

Thousands of people will watch the Buffalo-killing, bloodshed in Durga bari temple to offer prayers to Goddess Durga on Maha-Navami.
