Clash between two communities : Tensed situation at Bishalgarh’s Munsipara : Section 144  clamped

AGARTALA, September 18 (TIWN): Clash between Hindu and Muslim communities created a tensed atmosphere at Bishalgarh’s Ragunathpur Munsibari under Sepahijala District. Five persons got injured. Police and TSR Jawans covered the whole area.Local Police Sources informed that on Thursday morning for the upcoming Durga Puja, Hindu Community people started building Puja Pandal at MunshiBari Idga Field. At that local Muslims tried to disrupt them. Argument and counter argument started and a time occurred when two communities involved in clash. As a result 5 people got seriously injured and were shifted to Bishalgarh hospital.

The injured people are stable now.

It is to be mentioned here that every year this kind of clashes occurred between these two communities in this area, particularly at the time of festivals. This year Durga Puja and Eid-Ul – fItar were side by side. Due to this clash no- party would be able to continue their festival in full spirit- says a local villager. However Police and TSR Jawans were deployed to the area. The area remains tensed.

Now , another village in Sipahijala District can be a role model of Hindu-Muslim unity. In, the Kulubari and Durgapur villages in western Tripura's Sepahijala district, attracts people of all religions across the northeastern state for their rare show of religious harmony in celebrating Durga Puja, which begins with the 'Bodhan' - welcoming the idols of Goddess Durga .Men, women and children, Muslims and Hindus, with all sincerity and commitment have been jointly organizing Durga Puja for the past few years Over 90 percent of the total population of both Kulubari and Durgapur villages are Muslims, who comprise around nine percent of Tripura's total of 3.7 million population.
