AGARTALA, Aug 16 (TIWN): Politicians' double standards continue to confuse the masses. When Tripura Ex-Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on the occasion of a local newspaper's foundation day has hit the BJP, RSS Govt claiming media's freedom has been snatched under their ruling across the country, has abused his own state’s media saying “No newspaper publishes truth and all newspapers are running in support of Capitalist, America’s friend BJP, RSS Govt. Referring Editors Guild Manik Sarkar said, they (Editors Guild members) are asking where is the freedom of media, newspapers today ?? Everywhere there are attacks and attempts of suppress the voice ! However, Sarkar further mentioned only the then Editor of Dainik Sambad Bhupen Datta Bhowmik was the member of Editors Guild, but he feels sad that his newspaper Dainik Sambad is also no more concerned about public agonies but they (Dainik Sambad) is publishing what they should not.

Manik  Sarkar further referred Gauri Lankesh’s killing and how journalists voices' are tried to be stopped by those so called capitalists. However, about his own state's slain journalists Sudip Datta Bhaumik and Santanu Bhaumik Manik Sarkar had no say which held during his Chief Ministry.

"The Editors Guild member are saying, we are under attack in a severe manner, right and left, from the front, from the back", he said.

Manik Sarkar added again before ending Gauri Lankesh and 7 killing of journalists in India under BJP Govt saying No freedom of media under BJP, RSS ruling'.

It can be noted, the same Ex-CM during his Chief Ministry when two journalists were killed, he didn’t visit press club to pay tribute to them, neither he walked any rally, but for Gauri Lankesh he dedicated rally with his so called “intellectual” friends.

It was assumed that after power shifting, Sarkar’s arrogance might have downed but Manik Sarkar further added his dream that CPI-M will surely rule at Centre one day.
