AGARTALA, Aug 14 (TIWN): Tripura under BJP era witnessing massive degradation of Law & Order. When state is celebrating 72nd Independence Day, 15 years young blood Tamal is no more. SFI activists have staged a protest here in Agartala after Tamal Das had breathed his last at Kolkata hospital on yesterday. Tamal was severely beaten to coma and died at last by Police Officer of AD Nagar PS Ajay Kumar Shukla Das's nephew. It was alleged that the Police officer himself was involved in the murder. However, the Chief Minister neither has visited victim's home nor he condoled the killing. The main accused Tushar Saha was arrested until students of Bordowali school have blocked National Highway at Drop Gate (Agartala) demanding Justice for Tamal Das on August 12. At the same time, SFI has raised voices against the increasing children's killing and students' murder in the state. The incident took place Friday evening when is Tamal Das, S/O-Kamal Das, resident of Kabiraj Tilla. was called by Tushar Saha and beaten over his head. For two days Tamal left in coma and finally on yesterday he breathed his last.
Students of Bordowali School and locals had blocked National Highway at Agartala Drop Gate on Sunday demanding "Justice for Tamal". The blockade held since around 10.30 am and around 12 noon when locals, students had been continuing the blockade over National Highway they informed media that Tamal died.
As the main accused Tushar Saha is nephew of Second O/C- of AD Nagar PS Ajay Kumar Shukla Das, thus he was not arrested before the massive road blockade had shaken Police Headquarter.
Bordowali School students said, "Tamal was called by Ajay Sukla Das and his nephew Tushar Saha and planwise they had beaten him to coma, whereas he could beat Tamal in other parts of the body".
"Tamal went for tuition, from where he was called in the police's quarter. After beating him, the Police Officer gave Rs. 5000 to the friends of Tushar and sent him at GB hospital saying nothing will happen to Tamal, but his friends brought Tamal to his house", the victim family said.
