AGARTALA, Aug 9 (TIWN): Tripura Ex-Chief Minister cum Opposition leader Manik Sarkar on Thursday while addressing at Agartala during CPI-M's ‘Jail-Bharo ‘movement said, "We tried to help the ruling BJP Govt with our best efforts. But they unready to listen to the oppositions. They don't care about opposition parties leaders except own party-ideology. No more request to the Govt. I urge the good BJP leaders and supporters to bring the Govt to senses". "All among BJP are not bad. I believe, there are also good people existing in that party. I request them to help people to get back their democratic rights in the state. Tripura is now undergoing Jungle-Raj", he said. Nowhere in the country such scenarios were observed earlier which Tripura is facing with demolition of party offices. They (BJP) are unready to listen anybody and massive loot, collapsing, demolition, destruction of the oppositions' party offices are going on. "Not only CPI-M but other opposition parties are also victim of it", Sarkar added.

The Ex-CM also told comrades, BJP has to be unseated from the state to restore democracy.

“People are unable to move from their houses. Poor people who support CPI-M are not allowed to go out with rickshaw, tomtom etc. Moreover, by spreading rumours illegally people are being killed. They (BJP supporters) are taking laws in hand…..in other words a total Jungle Raj has been implemented here”, Manik Sarkar added.

The Jail Bharo movement was kicked off by Farmers and Trade Union Units of the CPI-M across the State along with a National Level agitation.

The issues of their protest are associated farmers' rights as loan waiver for the farmers, to give ‘patta’ under the land rights, to save the democratic and fundamental rights of the people.

Manik Sarkar further talked about the massive unemployment issue alleging around 30 crores of unemployed youths are now in country, whereas in Tripura people are dying without food due to extreme poverty.
