AGARTALA, July 30 (TIWN): Even though Chief Minister Biplab Deb asked drivers to learn "manners" but even Govt Officials are not saved from unruly behaviour of the drivers in Tripura. The Transport Dept officials on Monday faced an attack by bus drivers, conductors at Nagerjala bus stand. When the Transport Dept officials were categorizing mini buses and ordinary buses on the basis of seat numbers, the ordinary bus drivers came with massive reactions against the Transport Dept officials. Generally with the 35 seats in number a bus is considered as Mini Bus and Ordinary Buses are being categorized which are having above 35 seats but when few buses with above 35 seats were hanged with banners of Ordinary Bus, then the people engaged in those bus services removed that banner and they said, we have to know what is eligibility of mini bus nationwide. When the drivers were shouting against the official the so called BJP wing ‘Sangh’, ‘BMS’ office bearers were silent.
However it can be mentioned here that as the Govt has given Kilometer wise chart, massive harassment of the passengers are going on in the state.
The bus service left paralyzed for hours during the office time at Nagerjala following the incident.
If a person tries to give the appropriate fare then, the conductor uses also ‘slang’ languages against the passengers openly.
Even though Udaipur-Agartala fare is 38 rupees the buses keep 40 rupees without returning two rupees back.
Overloading of buses are turning 2 hours journey as 4 hours everyday.
For Bishalgarh passengers they are taking 20 to 25 rupees for Agartala to Bishalgarh and only till University also it’s the same fare.
Not only this, instead of taking 12 rupees, the auto drivers before taking passengers ask to give 15 rupees for Battala to Chandrapur route. At the same time E-Rickshaw (Tomtom) also charging 15 rupees, even though they were not counted within fare hike.
