AGARTALA, July 28 (TIWN): When unemployment has hit the state Tripura, free B.Ed courses seat allocations leading chaos in the state. A group of ST and OBC youths rushed before Pragna Bhawan’s interaction programme’s hall today to meet Chief Minister, anyhow stopped by the security guards. The youths wanted to meet the Chief Minister alleging a massive partiality in the admission procedure. The students who were in the top of the merit list were cancelled from selection after counseling. The counseling was called for few minutes and in an open room where all candidates together participated. But during the viva counselling, the marks, seniority-basis issues dumped and the candidates who were not in the merit list they had been selected, alleged the ST students. They wanted to meet the Chief Minister but could not as the administration didn’t permit them. Later Tribal Welfare Dept Minister Mebar Jamatia met them and said, he will look into the matter.

The tribal student demanded proper inquiry or they will go in massive protest.

The OBC youths brought another allegation as even after advertisement no official from OBC Welfare Dept was present to receive the applications. The dept was totally closed, whereas SC, ST counselings were going on. The advertisement was given on yesterday and Monday is the last date for application submission but in middle tomorrow is Sunday.

OBC Candidates from various corners came to submit their applications. The candidates also wanted to meet the CM, expressed heavy resentment and alleged ‘partiality’, ’intrigue’.

Noteworthy, Tripura State Govt has decided to bear all expenses of poor, talented students for B.Ed course along with two years more expenses after B.Ed completion which will help the student to get a job under Chief Minister’s 'Anuprerona Yojna' and the students are sent on that basis.

As a part of the B.Ed course Govt will bear the loan expense of the students and so the Colleges where the admission will be done, they all will ofcourse able to manage quality-education for our state's students which will confirm their jobs. Not only this, state Govt will bear the loan of the course’s for extra two years even after completing B.Ed. In the mean time if the students do not get job, then govt will not bear the loan-expenses anymore.

But massive violation of candidate selection procedure has been alleged by a section of youths.
