AGARTALA, July 17 (TIWN): Mob-lynching shocked state Tripura is undergoing a restless situation with various baseless rumours are on air amid state govt’s failure to set a ‘Rule of Law’ even after four months of passage, but the ruling BJP are busy to blame its opposition parties instead accepting Home Dept’s failure in maintain Law and Order. Instead of decreasing, the crimes have been further spiked up in Tripura with constant incidents of rapes, murders are horrifying the state everyday. On Tuesday afternoon, ruling BJP has come in massive protest across the state’s Districts voicing against CPI-M led alleged violence.

The main allegation against CPI-M was the party is damaging the Law and Order of the state to stop the developmental works of the BJP-IPFT Govt, whereas it has been reported time to time how both the ruling BJP & IPFT themselves are busy in infightings leading violence. 

Rallies were conducted allover the state on Tuesday voicing against the deteriorated law and order of the state, where they dumped all the blames upon CPI-M.

On the other side, the Supreme Court on Tuesday condemned mob lynching incidents across the country and urged Parliament to enact a law to deal with the crime that threatens rule of law and the country's social fabric. SC has also asked the Centre to file a compliance report on its directions within August 20.

"It is the duty of the State to maintain law and order, social and pluralistic fabric of the society and the rule of law," bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A.M. Khanwilkqar and Justice D.Y. Chandrachud said. 

Pronouncing the judgment, Chief Justice Misra said that no one can take the law into their own hands or become a law unto himself.

Issuing a slew of directions including preventive, remedial and punitive steps to deal with the crime, the court said that mobocracy will not be allowed.

On June 24, ahead of Parliament Session’s beginning CPI-M will stage a demonstration protesting against the ongoing violence in Tripura and West Bengal. Politburo member Ex CM of Tripura Manik Sarkar also will join the protest.

Talking about mob-lynching and SC’s verdict, MP Jitendra Chaudhury said, “It’s very important to find out the source of the rumours because it has been seen that the people who  are in power themselves have been engaged in rumour mongering and unfortunately Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath till day has not apologized for delivering wrong statement, who spread rumour on kidney-smuggling ongoing in state”.
