AGARTALA / IMPHAL, July 17 (TIWN): Even though BJP Tripura Unit looks a disciplined party but inside its divided into various factions working nonstop to weaken rivals in same party. On June 30, 2018 at Imphal, Biplab Deb’s faction announced quite illegally that Biplab will continue as Party president till 2019 Lok Sabha Election, which is not only a fraudulent propaganda but a backdoor attempt to suppress other factions aspiring to occupy party president’s post via internal ballots or by Amit Shah’s selection. Biplab camp’s announcement was illegal, didn’t have Party High Commands approval, so BJP High Command preparing to elect a proper State President within next 2 weeks. Biplab faction likely to face a tough challenge from other groups led by senior leaders like Subal Bhowmik and various Cabinet Ministers. Biplab’s primary godfather is BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav but Amit Shah, Sunil Deodhar to various core BJP leaders prefer to install a more matured leader in Party President’s Post.BJP has formed governments on its own in Arunachal, Assam and Tripura and is an alliance partner in Manipur and Meghalaya governments.

Ahead of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram unit delegations meetings, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb led party leaders in an hour-long meeting with Shah on June 30 at Imphal. All the meetings were attended by BJP general secretary Ram Madhav, BJP north-east in-charge Ajay Jamwal and North East Democratic Alliance convener Himanta Biswa Sharma.

From sources, BJP High command is unhappy with various non-performance by Biplab Deb's leadership so a new Party President likely yo boost BJP's prospect in Tripura ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha Election.
