AGARTALA / TELIAMURA, July 16 (TIWN): BJP Govt is facing tough time on its four months of Govt formation due to RD Dept’s failure in providing MGNREGA works in sufficient manner leading a massive crisis situation in state. Tripura’s poor economy was adjusted with 7 to 8 days MGNREGA mandays in the previous CPI-M Govt’s era, which has now further dropped. Not even one day MGNREGA work is being given per month leading massive food and work crisis in villages. CPI-M under Khet-Mazdoor of All India Kisan Sabha held a massive protest rally on Monday in demand of MGNREGA mandays and food for rural Tripura. The rally was addressed by Narayan Kar, Pabitra Kar here in Agartala and also various other rallies took place across the state including a huge protest at Telimaura. CPI-M leader Ex-Deputy speaker Pabitra Kar said, “Before the Election BJP had promised to give 200 days MGNREGA works will be given in a year and on that time they criticized CPI-M Govt which was giving 100 days MGNREGA works".
"The wage was promised to be hiked at Rs. 340 whereas now the wage is further cut and from Rs.170 it has dropped at lowest 118 rupees”, he said.
“The primary reason of collapsed rural economy is MGNREGA work crisis. In CPI-M time, at least 7 to 8 days mandays given per month but now under the BJP Govt 2.5 days of MGNREGA mandays were given in last four months. Even though the ruling party says “Only 4 Months”, but to whom they should raise the complain”, Pabitra Kar added.

Radhacharan Debbarma further said, “The state govt is busy to talk on what CPI-M has done in 25 years, whereas not a single govt official was sent to the villages till day which are suffering from food, work crisis”.
