DHARMANAGAR, June 19 (TIWN): TV Channel News Vanguard, TIWN, Syandan Patrika’s Journalist Suman Debnath was brutally attacked by North Tripura Petrol Mafia led by Smuggler Simin Mia, aided by another criminal Mihir Deb late Monday night 10.30pm. Simin Mia lured Journalist Suman to meet in Dharmanagar town on the pretext of a discusson. As soon as Suman Debnath met smuggler Simin, Simin pulled out a dagger to slice Suman’s neck in Islamic HALAL style, Simin Mia’s dagger was not sharp enough to cut deeper into Suman’s neck, so in the melee Suman ran for life and Simin Mia and other criminals ran with Vanguard Channel’s mike, camera and valuables. Injured Suman was bleeding at midnight and then admitted into Hospital, followed by Police report.

Simin Mia was aided by another notorious Oil Mafia Mihir Deb to organize this planned murder. BJP CM Biplab Deb’s failure to engage CBI in dual murders of Journalist Santanu Bhowmik, Sudip Datta Bhowmik encouraging Statewide Mafias including BJP’s own rogue elements to attempt capital revenge on Journalists. Unless State Govt shows some seriousness in protecting Journalists lives, many more Journalists will become victim of organized nexus of corrupt Politicians, Mafias, Law & Order machineries.

Brutal atack on Journalist Suman Debnath once again exposed the fact that Journalists in Tripura are helpless, barely can trust bribe happy North Tripura Police machinery.

Journalist Suman Debnath's father was a senior Journalist for decades with Syandan Patrika, apart from primary Job with News Channel TV Vanguard, Suman Debnath was a contributor in Tripura Infoway, Syandan Patrika and other news medias.

North Tripura’s decades long bribe-happy administration, CPI-M, BJP led mafias kept States fuel supply regularly interrupted due to daily theft of petrol, diesel from stranded tankers at North Tripura Churaibari Check Post. TIWN unearthed multiple times that after continued petrol crisis, illegal petrol sale is rampant in State. CPI-M backed Mafia raj of petrol smugglers has hit the North Tripura administration.

TIWN correspondents took many pictures at Kamaleswar area, where openly the tanker drivers coming from Assam and selling petrol to the local businessmen. Mafia-raj of petrol smugglers are dominating the whole Dharmanagar subdivision. Bribe happy Policeand excise officials got all the evidences, pictures and sources but no action is taken in exchange of regular supply pf bribes. Question raises about the role of police, excise officias on duty at North Tripura. Even after TIWN earlier news on fuel-theft, police is not arresting the fuel-mafia or arresting unruly tanker drivers.

During peak smuggling in 2016, North Tripura Police and CBI-chargesheeted DGP K Nagraj chosen to remain a mute spectator during this severe fuel-crisis paralyzed Tripura’s daily life.

Like former CPI-M Ministers, now BJP Ministers are keeping silent due to their vote bank issues among the mafias and smugglers..

Tripura is suffering sporaidic petrol crisis, but the continuous black marketing in Tripura has hit the supply of essential commodities at rock bottom.

In Dharmanagar during any Statewide Petrol crisis, It’s very surprising that whether the petrol pumps are dried up due to huge crisis fueled by NH-8’s pathetic condition, on the other hand, it’s found that the children in local areas are selling petrol directly to the bikers and other vehicular.

TIWN also published the children’s picture selling fuel directly to the bikers, but such activities are ignored without action. But the common people are the worst sufferer due to the unchecked illegal business at North Tripura.

When state’s law and order reels under massive fuel theft, the District Administration has turned a blind eye from the burning issue. The vehicles are unable to pass from North Tripura as black marketers are stealing fuel at North Tripura.

Mafias stealing Petrol from Tankers at Dharmanagar. Bribe Happy Police remained blind. TIWN

Dharmanagar Durgapur area is popular for this black marketing, fuel thefts. But District administration is in slumber.

TIWN Sources found that 70 to 80  persons’ team is involved in this illicit business of OIl theft from Tankers.

Reportedly, there are 2 to 4 shops at Rail-Gate, under Durgapur, Dharmanagar which has their own go-downs of stolen petrol. Massive stocks are there inside their go-downs, said sources. However, their illegal business is organized but the whole smuggling racket is left unchecked.

The trucks which come from Guwahati stands before designated shops and openly in broad day light the truck drivers selling fuel to the local shop-keepers. Surprisingly Police, Excise and Dist. authorities keeping numb over the issue.

Dharmanagar Rail Gate based Oil Mafias Simin Mia, Mihir Deb were exposed multiple times by Journalist Suman Debnath, so they attempted to murder Journalist Suman Debnath on Monday night.

After BJP's victory, due to corrupt OSD Dilip Roy, all Mafias got closer with BJP Govt and now taking revenge on upright Journalists.

In a Statement issued by News Vanguard Editor Sevak Bhattacharjee, a Journalist team from Agartala will be reaching Dharmanagar Hospital on Tuesday morning 11 am. All Dharmanagar media persons are requested to be present at Hospital beside Journalist Suman Debnath as a strength of Solidarity.

TIWN Condemns this brutal attack on Journalist Suman Debnath, appeals to BJP Govt for immediate CBI investigation to destroy Oil Mafia Nexus with Politicians , Police, as State Police proved multiple times that its incapable to wage war on Oil Mafias, Drug Mafias under Political patronage.
