AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, June 18 (TIWN): Tripura’s terrible flood calamity wiped off livelihood of lakhs of victims who are in desperate need of financial assistance to rebuild their lives. Chief Minister’s media blitz on hugging flood affected victims, Helicopter hoppings, assuring people ‘paache aachi’, suspending few erring officials for news publicity rather than Departmental actions, some staple Khichudi diets are not enough to pacify lakhs of floods victims across Tripura. Had it been Manik Sarkar or Assam’s Sarbananda Sonowal, they would have demanded a flood calamity emergency funding and rushed to meet Prime Minister in next flight. Tripura public and BJP Leadership paying heavy price for handing over mantle of administration to an inexperienced CM who is yet to take proper action on massive scale of calamity.

Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal and Deputy CM Himanta Biswa already got over Rs 1000 crores from a package of Rs  2350 crores given for four North Eastern States Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland in 2018.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 9,2018 announced a package of ₹2,350 crore for four North-East states(major share for Assam) for mitigating the impact of floods on short- and long-term basis.

Modi, on a day-long visit to Guwahati in January 9,2018, met the Chief Ministers of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland to take stock of the flood situation.

“The prime minister announced ₹2,350-crore total flood package for the four states,” Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

Biplab Deb has been visiting various relief camps in flood affected Unakoti District as a part of assuring support to the victims ut follow up actions of Doctors, Medicines not sufficient.

CM has ordered officials to stay active and to assure confirm assistance to the flood affected people residing each corner of the Unakoti District.

CM said, his Kailashahar relief camp visit is to ensure that proper facilities are being provided to citizens. “I asked the officials to make sure that timely assistance reaches all the locations across the state”, CM said in a tweet. Tripura is getting Central Govt’s help with huge numbers of NDRF have been deployed in state but no Central cash assitance so far.

Following cabinet meeting Tripura Govt had announced, such a dangerous and deadly flood state Tripura has not experienced in recent times.

Public raising questions that when Biplab Deb can bring PM Modi for multiple times for election campaigning, why not to tour massive flood calamity ?

Every Chief Minister would have got PM or immemdiate Central Funding so that each flood vicitm can receive minimum Rs 25,000 cash donation and a soft Bank loan of Rs 2 to 5 Lakhs to rebuild their livelihood again.

Irrespective of Govt Officials fault, whether its a SDM or Govt Doctor or a Clerk, Chief Minister has no right to shout and insult for Media Blitz - there are well laid Govt procedures, Departmental enquiries and actions.

Motormouth CM seldom forgets that Chief Minister's post is a Temporary Post of Power - not a Life long dynasty.

Like Filmy 'NAYAK' style going for few hours by a Helicoper, suspending WRONG officials (Unakoti DM was at fault for not repairing Manu River Bank, not  hardworking SDM who was threatened with suspension), getting media blitz and the returning back to Agartala in Airconditioned luxary cannot foo Tripura Public longer.

Tripura Govt Must demand immediate Central Funding to rescue State population from post-flood livelihood miseries.
