AGARTALA, June 12 (TIWN): Following the gherao episode with Ex-Chief Minister Manik Sarkar at Gandacherra yesterday, BJP spokesperson Ashok Sinha called a press conference clarifying that the attackers were not BJP or IPFT supporters, neither BJP knows anything about such episode. Addressing a press conference, Ashok Sinha said, "Whatever held yesterday BJP has no link with that. Who were those persons BJP doesn't know that. May be they were the angry mobs to ask Ex-CM Manik sarkar to go back as they do not want to see his face anymore". The BJP leader also raised question, why Manik Sarkar didn't visit Gandacherra in last 25 years and why suddenly after being unseated from power his sympathy grew for common people ?

On the other side, Manik Sarkar was allegedly again blocked by BJP, IPFT supporters today afternoon when he was on the way from Hatimara to Raishyabari. MLA Prabhat Chowdhury, MLA Tapan Chakraborty were present and faced the blockade with Manik Sarkar.

On yesterday Ex-Chief Minister Manik Sarkar was gheraoed, pushed back from entering in Dak Bunglow and it was none other than 20 years long ruling Ex-Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. The incident took place when Manik Sarkar reached Gandacherra in a visit aiming to talk to the local people of that area.

The reason behind the gherao was nothing but a dirty politics against Ex-Chief Minister, claims CPI-M.

CPI-M in press release said, “Manik Sarkar along with MLA Tapan Chakbraborty, MLA Prabhat Chowdhury was in four days visit for Dhalai and North District. When Manik Sarkar’s vehicle was in front of the Dak Bunglow at Dhalai BJP,IPFT activists raised slogan asking him to Go Back”. Around 25 BJP/IPFT activists attacked Manik Sarkar’s vehicle and participated in the gherao.

When opposition wanted to talk to DGP, police informed that DGP is right now busy.At last when MP Jitendra Choudhury called Chief Minister Biplab Deb and then the blockade was withdrawn.

However, today also same episode was repeated when BJP-IPFT gheraoed Manik Sarkar at Raishyabari.
