AGARTALA, May 29 (TIWN): After CPI-M, now Tripura Congress have come with heavy reactions against the BJP Govt issuing 10323 teachers future.

Addressing a press conference, Congress leader Gopal Roy said, "Before the Election, the BJP had promised to save 10323 teachers lives. But we can see that after the Election was ended, the BJP Govt has moved 90 degree from their promises. In the Vision Document in page-4 BJP clearly said that they will save 10323 teachers jobs, once they are in power. The govt must take immediate action to save teachers lives as their jobs will be terminated after June 31st".

"First culprit of the 10323 teachers are the CPI-M but the second culprit is ofcourse the BJP who played with the teachers sentiments to get their votes", Gopal Roy said.

"Recently Chief Minister Biplab Deb said, BJP Govt will do everything for 10323 teachers but under law. Our question is, didn't you know the law before the Election ?", Gopal Roy added.

The 10323 teachers who were terminated with Supreme Court’s final verdict are going to lose their jobs after 30th June 2018 as after 31st December their jobs were increased on ad-hoc basis for more 6 months but that tenure also is going to end on June 30th. 10,323 teachers' jobs were first cancelled by Tripura High Court in 2014 on May 7 after spotting irregularities in the recruitment process, before the issue was taken to Supreme Court by the the CPI-M Govt.

A division bench of the high court, comprising Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Swapan Chandra Das, had passed then order May 7, 2014 terminating the jobs of 10,323 school teachers after Dec 31, citing irregularities in recruitment and SC has upheld High Court's 2014 verdict.

However, High Court asked the Tripura Govt to save 10323 teachers jobs, by appointing the deprived youths who filed cases against the irregularities in recruitment of 10323 teachers by the then Tripura Govt, but on that time Tripura Govt didn't appoint the deprived 59 youths and challenged the High Court verdict in the Supreme Court.

On March 29, 2017, the Supreme Court also held High Court's order and terminated the teachers. Supreme Court in a humanaitarian gesture to 10323 teachers mentioned that the teachers will continue their jobs till 2017, 31st Dec.

Later with the request of Tripura Govt, the Supreme Court added 6 months of ad hoc basis jobs for the teachers which will be end on June 11, 2018. Supreme Court issued 6th month's contract jobs for the teachers as Tripura Govt told Supreme Court, if teachers are terminated schools will be suffering from teachers crisis in the mid-session.
