AGARTALA, May 15 (TIWN): One thief was arrested with dangerous arms, 60 mobile phones, laptops, TVs, Gold items and various expensive materials by West Agartala Police from Rajnagar area. During the interrogation it has been known that three more thieves including a Bangladeshi is involved in that looters-gang. Common men in Agartala City are suffering due to thieves, robbers threats everyday and above 10 bikes are stolen per day from various corners of the city. In this situation this robber’s arrest has been marked as a "success" by the state police. West Agartala Police Station O/C-Subrata Chakraborty told media, “Recently reports were coming regarding various theft cases at the Agartala City. To crack down the thieves-gangs, a committee was formed at the police station level and since 3-4 days we had been continuing our raids against such anti-social elements and the gang was nabbed following those raids”.

 Police Officer said that a gang is operating behind such crimes, even though police have arrested one person.

With the thief was arrested, police is much hopeful to arrest all the thieves soon. One Bangladeshi is also under police's radar. 

Total 4 persons are in this gang, West Agartala PS OC Subrata Chakraborty added.

However for the investigation purpose name and face of the arrested thief was not revealed before the media.

Total 60 mobile phones, 4 LED TVs, Laptops, gold items and various expensive items were recovered from him. Police is interrogating the thief.
