AGARTALA, March 24 (TIWN): With the administration empowered by BJP, a rise in Bharat Mata puja have been observed throughout the state.

The trend had increased after Tripura BJP Chief Minister Biplab Deb had attended a Bharat Mata Puja and  offered prayers to Bharat Mata Goddess at Banamalipur (own constituency).

However the Bengali populated Bharat Mata is observing in some places as Devi Durga with 4 day long Basanti Puja has started.

In Tripura Bharat Mata was hardly worshiped before the saffron wave came in state, but since last few years Bharat Mata puja came in the limelight.

Bharat Matā is the national personification of India as a mother goddess. She is an amalgam of all the goddesses of Indian culture and more significantly of goddess Durga. She is usually depicted as a woman clad in a saffron sari holding the Indian national flag, and sometimes accompanied by a lion.
