AGARTALA, March 16 (TIWN): As expected, Tripura BJP govt is now undergoing heavy economic crisis following the 25 years of CPI-M regime. In this condition rather than depending upon the Central Govt, it left with no other option. At the same time, ex-CM Manik Sarkar's allegation proven true as a deficit of 1588.19 crores was reported after the cabinet meeting. However, behind such an economical disaster, BJP Govt has blamed the nil-revenue income of the state govt years after years. After the cabinet meeting, Minister Pranajit Sinha Roy said, “Today in the cabinet meeting, the Chief Secretary placed the critical economic condition of the state before us. In 2017-18 the total fund allocated by the centre was 12708.81 crores. The expenditure was 14297 crores with a deficit of 1588.19 crores”.“The revenue collection of the state govt has been very poor, even though the expenditure is increasing years after years. In last financial years no improvement in the revenue income had come”, said Roy.

“Total 1,16,112 govt employees are there, whereas fixed paid employees numbers are 161331 and pensioners are 56441”, he said.

“Fiscal deficit in 2016-17 was hiked at 6.83 % and this year it may increase more. In the same manner the expenditure under non-plan budgets are increasing day after day. In this condition, we are hopeful and also determined to execute all our given promises in the Vision Document............we hope Central Govt will help our Govt fully to establish”, said Roy.

This was the 2nd cabinet meeting of Tripura BJP Govt in Tripura after March 11.
