CPI-M’s complaint of ‘Votes going to Lotus’ : ‘Complainer must be a super-technologist, so doesn’t exists in World’, CEO

AGARTALA, Feb 20 (TIWN): In reply to media queries whether any particular machine had malfunctioned and all votes went for BJP lotus symbol during Assembly Election, CEO Sriram Taranikanti said that it’s not at all possible and if somebody is making such accusations with such technical issue then person must be a super-technologist so far doesn’t exist in world because it’s not possible to enter in a single-mode system. Media raised question if there was any such complain that pressing a button the vote was going to one particular party. ECO replied, ‘It’s absolutely Not-possible anyhow’. Addressing the press, Taranikanti further said, “Under the given technology it’s not possible to get into a system which stands alone. Suppose it’s a pen. So is it possible to get inside the pen ?”Noteworthy, the ruling CPI-M has lodged an complain of EVM malfunctioning booth -49/ 31 of Chawmanu.In a complaint, CPI-M wrote to EC, "It is reported that booth -49/ 31 of Chawmanu constituency, whichever button is pressed, maximum votes are going for BJP's symbol lotus".

However, the CEO s announced 89.96 % vote casting was the final voting percentage.

The voting percentage at West Dist is 92.87 %, Sepahijala is 91.16 %, South Tripura 92 %, Dhalai 89.22 %, Unakoti 86.19 %, North Dist is 87.25 %, Khowai is 92.19 and Gomati is 90.44 %.
