Govt counters resigned High Court’s Addl PP Amitabha Ray Barman’s claim of illegal pressure from Govt

AGARTALA, July 26 (TIWN): After resigned Govt PP of Tripura High Court Amitabha Ray Barman has alleged, he resigned due to Govt’s pressure on him and his role was attempted to be manipulated, in counter Govt sources have claimed that Tripura Gov't if has forced Ray Barman to resign the post of Addl. PP but there are valid reasons.

Govt is in support of justice and eliminating criminals from the mainstream and putting them under the bar, but Raybarma was helping a criminal named Titu Ahmed legally, the source added.

“Raybarman is working in the interest of culprit of 18 cases. Raybarman has clearly advocate regarding the Bail of one accused Titu Ahmed, which has enough proofs.  While Gov't is keen to do justice, Titu is engaged in 18 dangerous cases. Addl. PP’s role was doubtful and so Gov't has asked to resign”, added the source.

TIWN has also received legal papers where it has claimed by source for showing that Raybarman indirectly managed bail for Titu Ahmed which is friction to his actual role.

On the other side, in his facebook page, after the resignation, RayBarman said that his resignation from the post of Addl public prosecutor High Court of Tripura was “compelling circumstances”. He also said, he was forced to resign due to continuous illegal request, persuasion and indirect threat from influential political personals.
